Available Positions

Sponsorship & Finance Representative 

As a Sponsorship & Finance Representative, you will play a vital role in supporting Stay Woke's fundraising efforts by assisting with the research, outreach and acquiring of corporate and organizational-sponsors. You will collaborate with your team to secure sponsorships to support Stay Woke events and programming to ensure financial stability.

 

  • Researching and sourcing potential sponsors by creating tailored sponsorship proposals which highlight the benefits and impact of supporting Stay Woke programs and events

  • Maintaining a database of potential, past and current sponsors

  • Maintaining past and current sponsorship relationships

  • Representing the Stay Woke organization

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Past experience is an asset but not required

  • Strong written communication skills

  • Interest in community-oriented spaces

  • Strong time management skills and ability to balance school with extracurricular commitments

Events Representative

As an Events Representative, you will be working with the broader team to support a crucial role in Stay Woke's mission by assisting with the planning, organizing and execution of events. You will be working under the leadership of our Project Coordinators to collaborate closely with the team to ensure events are engaging, well-organized and aligned with the organization's mission and goals. 

​

  • Event Planning & Coordination

    • Collaborate with your team to execute all event logistics including: assisting with the development of event schedules, timelines, curating performer talents to ensure line-up is cohesive, creating forms â€‹

    • Help research and secure event venues and vendors for Gallery

  • Event Vision and Active Execution

    • Actively contribute to the team development of vision for events which align with Stay Woke mission and values​

    • Seek collaborations for event activities and other resources ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with event goals

    • Play and execute day-of activities, including facilitation of activities as needed

  • Supporting our Framed Magazine execution

Community Engagement Representative

As a Community Engagement Representative, you will be working with your team to support Stay Woke's efforts to build strong, meaningful relationships with community members and stakeholders by actively participating in various outreach initiatives and events to foster connections and raise awareness about our mission and values. â€‹

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Relationship Building with Community

    • ​Seeking partnerships with community stakeholders, other organizations and schools to foster collaboration and support for Stay Woke initiatives  

  • Event Support and Participation

    • Assist with the planning, organization and execution of community events including Stay Woke events, workshops, boothing at events, presentations and community gatherings​

    • Actively participating in events, facilitating activities, networking with supporters and promoting upcoming events to personal and professional networks

  • Communication

    • Spporting stakeholder communication via emails, DMs or phone calls​

  • Collecting Feedback​​

    • Creating and implementing event feedback forms and distributing them to target audiences

    • Evaluating the success of the organization is essential for community engagement

    • Organize constructive criticism and feedback and relay it to the team in a clear and cohesive manner to ensure that the appropriate changes can be made

Content Research and Writer

As a Content Research and Writer, you will be working with your team to research, write and produce high-quality written content that supports Stay Woke's mission, goals and communication objectives. You will also be closely collaborating with other portfolios to develop compelling material that engages our target audience, promotes the organization's initiative and showcases its impact.

 

Roles, Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Writing and researching “Stay Woke Sunday” posts: tackling current issues through an evidence-based approach and an intersectional lens

  • ​Supporting Stay Woke Framed Magazine tasks and writing projects, including the editorial process​

  • Supporting professional written material as needed for events and programming including website information, grant proposals, event proposals and outreach packages 

  • Opportunities to collaborate with team for event planning and marketing tasks

You...

  • Are passionate about social and current issues, and have an interest in researching them to educate youth audiences

  • Have a good sense of knowledge regarding intersectional approaches to social issues (or are willing to learn through training!)

  • Have a passion for writing - creatively or professionally

  • Are seeking opportunities to take initiative and meet other youth

  • Have strong time management abilities, and the ability to dedicate time to extra-curricular work during school

Marketing Content Creator

As a Content Creator, you will be responsible for producing engaging, creative and visually compelling content in video format across Instagram and TikTok that effectively engages the Stay Woke digital audience. You are expected to use your personal creative vision to execute marketing material, and will work with your team to capture content as needed for in-person events!​

​

Responsibilities:

  • Strong initiative in brainstorming creative content ideas for events and general organizational activities to meet the needs of marketing objectives

  • Filming and editing content at events

  • Working with team to ensure material reflects the needs of Stay Woke programs 

  • Staying up to date with latest trends and best practices in content creation

​

  • Enjoy content creation and have a creative eye!

  • Love capturing events and building stories through video

  • Are familiar with simple content creator materials such as CapCut (or can learn!) and TikTok

  • Are seeking opportunities to take initiative and meet other youth

Marketing Graphic Design

In this position you will be producing engaging and visually compelling  graphics for our social media posts, promotional materials needed for events and the design and layout for our Framed magazine. 

​

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Attending bi-weekly meetings to collaborate for content creation through the design of Instagram posts and reel covers

  • Supporting the Graphic Design lead in the creation of the Framed Magazine layout and design, and other professional design materials needed including banners and posters

  • Taking initiative through contributing your creative vision

This position is for you if you...

  • Have experience in graphic design and softwares needed (Canva/Adobe etc.)

  • Have an eye for design and aesthetics, and enjoy creativity

  • Are looking to build your creative portfolio
