First Stay Woke Event

Our first open-mic event centered around social justice and healing, with under 30 guests at Studio.89 cafe, when our Founders were only in grade 11.

Team Equity Training

Establish foundational knowledge of important concepts, and engage in discussion about topics such as anti-Black racism, microaggressions and equity vs. equality.

NowCreates x Cool Objects

Creative arts workshop led by Cool Objects with the support of our past funders, NowCreates, to fundraise for the Stay Woke NPO!

Stay Woke Graduation

Due to the pandemic related implications for the Class of 2020 and 2021, we decided to boost team morale by hosting a graduation ceremony for our high school seniors within the community!

Celebrating 5 Years

McMaster Collaboration

Speak Your Truth

Our signature open-mic and gallery event, featuring a new lineup of youth performers. We expanded and improved our gallery to feature 10 interactive youth-led booths featuring a variety of organizations and businesses. Supported by a number of local organizations.

Western Collaboration

Collaborated with three student clubs to host our first open-mic event with Western University, which successfully gathered students from all across campus.

First Limited Pop-Up

2020

In response to poor mental health outcomes due to severe social isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic and in alignment with social distancing guidelines, we hosted a limited pop-up open-mic and social event. Our event sold out within 1 hour, encouraging us to focus on community building further. Sponsored by Lazeez.
