First Stay Woke Event

Our first open-mic event centered around social justice and healing, with under 30 guests at Studio.89 cafe, when our Founders were only in grade 11. 

City Council Delegation

Delegated to request funding and community support, leaving a lasting impression and connecting with many City Councilors and staff for support.

Team Equity Training

Establish foundational knowledge of important concepts, and engage in discussion about topics such as anti-Black racism, microaggressions and equity vs. equality.

Stay Woke Graduation

Due to the pandemic related implications for the Class of 2020 and 2021, we decided to boost team morale by hosting a graduation ceremony for our high school seniors within the community!

Celebrating 5 Years

Bringing back our signature open-mic and gallery event by celebrating our 5 year anniversary, featuring 20 youth performers, 5 gallery businesses and over 100 guests. Sponsored by a number of local organizations and businesses.

McMaster Collaboration

The beginning of a partnership with McMaster University to host open-mics to support the growing student arts community. A huge success in collaboration with student clubs!

Speak Your Truth

Our signature open-mic and gallery event, featuring a new lineup of youth performers. We expanded and improved our gallery to feature 10 interactive youth-led booths featuring a variety of organizations and businesses. Supported by a number of local organizations.

Western Collaboration

Collaborated with three student clubs to host our first open-mic event with Western University, which successfully gathered students from all across campus.

ACCESS Charity Pitch

Won funding and gained valuable access to community mentorship, as well as connecting with fellow youth organizations.

SEVA Speaks

Featuring our interactive workshop, “The Death of Creativity” in collaboration with SEVA Speaks McMaster, to explore personal identity and creativity.

First Limited Pop-Up

In response to poor mental health outcomes due to severe social isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic and in alignment with social distancing guidelines, we hosted a limited pop-up open-mic and social event. Our event sold out within 1 hour, encouraging us to focus on community building further. Sponsored by Lazeez.

August Pop-Up

Our second limited pop-up this summer, which united performers, gallery artists, guests and sponsors for intimate discussions and engaging performances. Sponsored by Lazeez and a number of local organizations who donated to our gift bags.

Registered Non-Profit Milestone

A huge milestone after overcoming our lack of resources and access to legal and financial support. 

Youth Creator Social

After demand from our community, we hosted a second creator social and had the opportunity to develop intimate relationships with our guests and performers.
